Representatives of Innocence Matters attempted to deliver a signed letter to the Georgia Attorney General. The following is a letter to the Attorney General that gives an account of what happened:
Dear Mr. Baker,
We tried to hand-deliver the attached letter today (signed version to follow). The Capitol Police would not allow us into your office. In fact, when four citizens, three of whom are ministers in training, entered the building in a very calm and orderly fashion, the Capitol Police aggressively removed them. The police actually removed their handcuffs from their belts threatening to physically restrain these law-abiding young men and women. When the group of four gathered on the nearby sidewalk to discuss, among themselves, their utter astonishment at this overly aggressive treatment, the Capitol Police then ordered each to provide their identifying information, and again threatened arrest. The Capitol Police banished them from the Capitol grounds and told the group not to enter for any circumstances for the next 48 hours and that they would need advanced permission for any future entry.
Perhaps the Capitol Police are not aware of your Guiding Principles listed in your Mission Statement.
"We are at all times trustees and servants of the people. We will be accessible and responsive to them and will foster public confidence in this department."
In any event, we trust you will read the attached document and respond in a timely manner given the urgency of this matter and in keeping with your other guiding principle.
"Our success in judicial proceedings will not be gauged simply by wins or losses. We will have well and faithfully discharged our duties when all parties have been treated fairly and when the outcome is consistent with the highest standards of justice. Justice, not victory, is our chief goal."

First and foremost a concerned citizen, and also a member of the Georgia State Bar.
The following two links provide copies of the original letter that could not be delivered because of the Capitol Police actions. These were attached to the above letter:

This incident is particularly troubling given the accusations by many that Georgia authorities are purposely burying facts and evidence and denying Troy Anthony Davis a retrial despite the recantation of the testimony of 7 out of the 9 witnesses. Troy's guilt was established solely on these testimonies, and one of the two remaining witnesses is considered by many to be the real murderer.
I am trying to obtain more facts about this story. I will report them here as I discover them.
