There is a phone number a little further down that you can call to help make a miracle happen, to help make America better and save it from its darkest side, to do a truly good deed. But first some background for those of you who don't know what this is about.
Troy Anthony Davis is a man scheduled for execution this Tuesday, Sept 23, 2008. Most people believe he is innocent, or agree that because of witness recants after the trial, there is more than enough doubt to make execution a grave miscarriage of justice.

Call the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles
I got the following email from The National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty. You don't have to be against the death penalty to believe that executing Troy Davis without a retrial is very wrong. Troy Davis himself has never asked for clemency or a pardon. He simply wants a retrial.
Hi Vas-
Thanks for your interest in this matter. I do not have any NCADP contacts in Seattle, unfortunately. At this stage, the last major action available to out-of state volunteers is phone calls directly to the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles. As of today, this line is still open and people are answering it: 404-651-6671.
If you could organize volunteers to call the line and register their complaint (you just give your name, state of residence, and briefly say why you oppose Troy Davis' execution). Getting as many people as possible to call this phone line is a priority.
I also know that some people in the FB group I'm a part of are organizing a media/political candidate outreach. This would also be worth a try. I'll append their letter at the end of their email. They are trying to contact Obama in particular on this issue, so if you as an Obama volunteer know how to get this message to him or the campaign, it would be extremely helpful.
Please let me know if you have any plans or ideas, and make the call! I hope beyond hope that Troy doesn't die on Tuesday.

Please comment below how your call went. I don't think you will get through on the voice lines until Monday morning, but before then I stongly suggest sending a fax.

OK, I just called and they must be closed for the day. You can't leave a message because "the mailbox is full". Please, everyone, pass the word around and make sure to call tomorrow, Monday at the latest. It's only going to take a few minutes of your time to help someone who has already spent 17 years in prison though it is highly likely he is innocent.

I dont understand why a so called civilized western nation even has the death penalty. I see that this group has even gone to Europe to seek justice. If only the USA would sign the ICC. I am sorry if you find this cold, but until the USA signs the ICC i dont care, you are all criminals for allowing such things to happen in your country. By the people for the people sounds rather hollow with such atrocities and barbarism. America is hardly an shining example of Democracy to countries like China or Iran, it is these things that expose the US hypocrisy for what it is.

I have posted all the numbers for ALL of Georgia's Reps. and Senators too. (On the other site.)
Calling the numbers I've given are first and foremost, but call YOUR state Senators and your District reps, and ALL the Senators and Reps. for Georgia as well. Keep calling!! Call the board then the reps. then repeat.
Make noise!! Call ALL the local and national news organizations too! FORCE them to stand up and take notice! Let them all know that we will not let this be kept quiet and we will make sure that EVERYONE knows WHO is responsible for this.
And if we cannot stop this, we still MUST NOT stop making noise ABOUT it!! We need to make sure that everyone knows WHO has the permanent stain of blood on their hands!!!!
The Supreme Court has apparently agreed to hear his case, about a week AFTER his current execution date!! THAT alone should be reason enough to halt it until then! Here are the #'s I found for the Supreme Court:

I've been up all night sending emails and filling any call boxes that I could that had room. Today is the day we MUST not give up. Starting RIGHT NOW and not stopping. All day, all night and all day tomorrow!!
We are "The People" and we have the power!! It's time we wield it as we have never before!!! Let's light them up folks!! They have to realize that we are NOT going away!!! I'll keep looking for other #'s and other people to contact. The Board, the Governor, the Supreme Court, the State of Georgia's Attorney General are priority #1!!

"High Court To Rule if Convicted Cop Killer Troy Davis Dies" http://edition.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/09/23/davis.scheduled.execution/ I've seen much more guilty people released or at least granted new trials on much more evidence. This really is tragic.
In fact, I was just watching a show two nights about about two people who spent years in jail based on "DNA evidence" that was proven to be incorrect by future DNA technology.
